Dr. Preethi Reddy, Founder of Green Theatre
Dr. Preethi Reddy

Dr Preethi Reddy is an anaesthesiologist with an interest in patient safety, sustainable healthcare and the relationship between clinical practice, environmental responsibility and health policy.

She founded Green Theatre to bring greater attention to the environmental aspects of healthcare, particularly anaesthesia and operating theatre practice. Her approach connects the care of individual patients with the resources and wider decisions that support it.

Perspective / 01

A clinical perspective

Her clinical interests include pre-anaesthesia assessment, airway management and perioperative care. These interests have shaped her attention to the decisions made around surgery and the importance of understanding the reasoning behind clinical practice.

Alongside medicine, she has pursued postgraduate study in medical law and ethics and in environmental law. These interests have broadened her perspective on professional responsibility, healthcare governance and the environmental consequences of care.

Perspective / 02

A wider policy perspective

Her interests extend beyond individual clinical choices to the way healthcare priorities, professional guidance and institutional arrangements are shaped. Through Green Theatre, she aims to bring a clinical perspective to policy and advocacy concerning environmentally responsible healthcare.

This includes making the subject understandable without losing its connection to evidence, patient care or the practical circumstances in which healthcare professionals work.

Perspective / 03

The thinking behind Green Theatre

Green Theatre reflects her interest in asking questions, returning to the evidence and making complex subjects easier to understand. It brings research, education, policy and advocacy into a shared conversation about sustainable healthcare.

Her aim is to encourage consideration of the environment as part of everyday healthcare, without separating it from the needs of patients or the realities of clinical work.
